Chennai IV Commissionerate
was formed consequent to the Notification No.14/2002 CE (NT) dated
08.03.2002 amended by Notification No.22/2002- CE (NT) dated 04.06.2002.
It is being carved out of Chennai I , II & III Commissionerates. The new
Commissionerate started functioning from 01.11.2002 as per Trade Notice
No.90/2002 dated 25.10.2002.
This
Commissionerate consists of 5 Divisions namely
Chromepet Division,
Perungudi Division,
Guindy Division,
Poonamallee Division and
Maduravoyal Division each
containing 5 ranges.
This
jurisdiction was communicated vide Notification No.14/2002-CE(NT)
dated 08.03.2002. This
jurisdiction was communicated vide amending Notification
No.22/2002-CE(NT) dated 04.06.2002.
The present jurisdiction of this commissionerate
