TRADE NOTICE NO. 12/2010 Dated: 19/03/2010
The Central Board of Excise and Customs has issued Notification No. 04/2010- Central Excise (NT) dated 19th Feb, 2010 and Notification No. 01/2010 – Service Tax dated 19th Feb,2010 making e-filing of returns (ER 1 and ER 3) mandatory for assessees paying revenue (PLA+CENVAT) of Rs.10 lakhs (Ten lakhs) or more in preceding financial year. The existing assessees, whose e-mail IDs are not in the ACES database, may approach the divisional Deputy/Assistant Commissioner to incorporate their email IDs to get TPIN mails and register with ACES. In this connection, template of a letter is enclosed, to facilitate the collection of e-mail IDs from the members of the trade and assessees. It is requested that users may submit their valid email IDs to the department as soon as possible and start using ACES. It is also brought to the attention of the trade that the monthly or quarterly returns, as the case may be shall be filed only electronically in http://www.aces.gov.in and not in http://exciseandservicetax.nic.in in terms Notification No.4/2010 Central Excise (NT) dated 19.02.2010, which is enclosed.
Further, to make it easy for the dealers to file returns in ACES, an XML schema has been hosted on the ACES website. By using this schema the assessees can generate an up-loadable form of return directly from their own database without the need to make fresh data entry. It is also brought to the attention of the trade that all the remaining Modules namely Refunds, Provisional Assessment, Exports, DSR and Audit have been deployed. The trade is requested the make use of the modules deployed.
